South African Express Airways SOC Ltd, known as SA Express, is a state-owned airline based in South Africa that started operations on 24 April 1994. Established as a regional carrier to complement South African Airways, it operated domestic and intra-regional African services connecting smaller cities to major hubs. On 2 December 2009, SA Express launched a comprehensive rebranding at OR Tambo International Airport, introducing a new identity aligned with the colours and symbols of the South African flag. Despite winning accolades including the AFRAA Regional Airline of the Year Award in 2009, financial difficulties led to the suspension of operations in 2020.
