Boscov's Inc. is an American family-owned department store founded in 1911 by Solomon Boscov in Reading, Pennsylvania. Originally a small dry goods shop serving immigrant coal communities, the store grew through the 1930s and expanded into shopping malls under Solomon’s son Albert Boscov in the 1960s. By the early 2000s, it had become the largest family-owned department store chain in the United States. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2008 and was subsequently repurchased by the Boscov family in 2009. Today, Boscov’s operates forty-nine locations across Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, offering apparel, footwear, home furnishings, beauty products, small appliances, and toys.

The brand’s messaging has long reflected its community-oriented identity. The classic advertising jingle I Found It at Boscov’s established the chain as a destination for discovery and value. This evolved into the positioning of Your Community Store, emphasizing local service and family ownership.
