Coway Co., Ltd. is a South Korean manufacturer of environmental home appliances founded in 1989 by Yoon Suk-geum as Woongjin Coway. The company initially focused on water purification systems before diversifying into air purifiers, electronic bidets, and water softeners. In 1998, it introduced an industry-first rental business model that bundled products with regular maintenance and filter replacement, establishing a nationwide network of service representatives known as Cody. This innovation drove 28 consecutive years of revenue growth and positioned Coway as the leading appliance rental firm in South Korea. In 2019, gaming company Netmarble acquired Coway, and the company has since expanded into sleep and wellness solutions under the BEREX brand, alongside mattresses and massage chairs. Today, Coway operates in over 60 countries with more than 7.65 million rental accounts.

The company’s core portfolio spans reverse osmosis water purifiers, multi-stage air purifiers, digital bidets, outdoor filtration systems, and sleep care products. Brand messaging has evolved from the early emotional appeal of I Love Coway to the wellness-focused promise of We Bring Wellness.
