Ardbeg is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery founded in 1815 by John MacDougall on the south coast of Islay, Scotland. For much of its history, the distillery supplied spirit for blended whiskies, reaching peak production of 1.1 million litres annually by the late 19th century. After a devastating closure in 1981 and years of limited operation, The Glenmorangie Company purchased and fully restored the distillery in 1997, with production resuming in 1998. In 2000, the Ardbeg Committee was formed to ensure the distillery would never close again. Today owned by LVMH, Ardbeg has risen from near-extinction to become one of the world's most celebrated peated whiskies.

Core offerings include the flagship Ardbeg Ten Years Old, the sherry-cask influenced Uigeadail, and the robust Corryvreckan, alongside limited Committee releases and rare aged expressions. The brand is renowned for its heavily peated, maritime character balanced by surprising sweetness—a phenomenon known as the peaty paradox.
