WRCB is an NBC-affiliated television station based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, founded on May 6, 1956, as WRGP-TV by Ramon G. Patterson. It became the region's first full-colour broadcaster after moving to Whitehall Road studios in 1968. The station changed its call letters to WRCB-TV in 1963 and was acquired by family-owned Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. in 1982. In 2022, the station rebranded as Local 3, reflecting its renewed focus on community-first journalism. Core offerings include local news, weather, and NBC network programming, with the station producing four hours of weekday newscasts under the Channel 3 Eyewitness News banner. Brand messaging has evolved from early positioning as Southeast Tennessee's Leading News Station to the long-standing promise Coverage You Can Count On, which has anchored the station's identity for nearly three decades.
