Blue Air is a Romanian airline headquartered in Bucharest. Founded in 2004 by Nelu Iordache, the airline commenced operations in December 2004 with a single Boeing 737 aircraft, initially focusing on charter flights to holiday destinations. It rapidly expanded into scheduled services, positioning itself as Romania's first low-cost carrier and growing into the country's largest airline by passenger numbers. In 2013, the airline introduced a new business model combining low fares with premium services, and in 2015 launched long-haul operations to transatlantic destinations. However, financial difficulties and the COVID-19 pandemic led to operational suspensions, and the airline filed for insolvency in 2022. In 2023, new investors acquired the brand with plans for revival.

Core offerings included scheduled and charter passenger services across Europe and beyond, operated by a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline positioned itself as a hybrid carrier, offering both no-frills and premium fare options.
