Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded immediately after World War II in Noale, Italy, by Alberto Beggio. Initially a bicycle producer, the company transitioned into motorcycles in 1968 under Ivano Beggio, launching its first 50cc model. The brand gained prominence with the 1970 Scarabeo motocrosser and expanded into enduro, trials, and road bikes throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Aprilia's racing pedigree took shape with its first Grand Prix victory in 1987 and has since accumulated 40 world championship titles, including 33 in MotoGP. The 1998 launch of the flagship RSV Mille marked its entry into large-displacement sportbikes, followed by the revolutionary RSV4 in 2009. Today, Aprilia produces a comprehensive range spanning the RSV4 and Tuono superbikes, Shiver and Dorsoduro middleweights, and the SR GT scooter line, all characterised by cutting-edge electronics and Italian engineering. In 2004, the brand became part of the Piaggio Group, Europe's largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
