TVS Motor Company is an Indian multinational two-wheeler manufacturer with roots tracing back to 1911, when T.V. Sundaram Iyengar began Madurai's first bus service. The automotive division formally took shape in 1962 with Sundaram Clayton, and in 1980 the company launched India's first two-seater moped, the TVS 50. A pivotal 1987 technology partnership with Suzuki Motor Corporation produced iconic models such as the Suzuki Shogun and Samurai, before the two companies parted ways in 2001 and the brand was renamed TVS Motor.
