Channel 10 (legally known as SAETA TV Canal 10) is a Uruguayan free-to-air television network founded on December 7, 1956, by Raúl Fontaina in Montevideo. As the first television broadcaster in Uruguay and the fourth in Latin America, it pioneered commercial broadcasting from a makeshift studio at the National Production Exhibition, using a 45-metre antenna and 100W transmitter. The station moved to its current headquarters on Lorenzo Carnelli Street in 1964, erecting the iconic 187-metre Torre Saeta—the tallest structure in Montevideo. Today, it remains the only private channel operating from its original studio location, broadcasting news, entertainment, and sports programming including the flagship newscast Subrayado and the annual Telethon Uruguay.
