Telecom Egypt is Egypt's primary telecommunications company founded in 1854 with the establishment of the first telegraph line between Cairo and Alexandria. Originally a state-owned monopoly, it was reorganised as the Telecommunications Organization in 1952 and converted into a joint-stock company named Telecom Egypt in 1998. Listed on the Egyptian and London Stock Exchanges in 2005, the company launched its mobile brand "WE" in 2017, becoming Egypt's first integrated telecom operator. In 2024, it secured the nation's first 5G license. Today, it operates one of the largest submarine cable networks in the world, serving consumers, enterprises, and international carriers across fixed voice, broadband, mobile, and wholesale services.

Core offerings include fixed-line and mobile voice, broadband internet, data transmission, and wholesale capacity leasing through its extensive submarine cable infrastructure. The company also provides integrated ICT solutions, IPTV, and fintech services including WE Wallet. Brand messaging has evolved from the earlier emotional promise إحنا منك (We're From You) to the 2019 forward-looking platform Stay Ahead - قبل أي حد (Stay Ahead - Before anyone else). In 2023, the company unveiled its current tagline Like No Other, reflecting its unique position as Egypt's sole integrated telecom and ICT provider.
