Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (abbreviated as MHFG, or simply called Mizuho) is a Japanese multinational banking and financial services institution. Tracing its roots to three of Japan's oldest banks—Dai–Ichi Bank, Yasuda Bank, and the Industrial Bank of Japan—dating back to 1873, the group was formally established in 2003 through the consolidation of these historic institutions. Headquartered in Tokyo, it operates across more than 40 countries, serving retail, corporate, and institutional clients through five core divisions: banking, securities, trust, asset management, and research & consulting. Its offerings encompass deposits, lending, payments, cash management, syndicated finance, M&A advisory, structured finance, and wealth management. In 2023, the group revised its corporate identity and adopted the new corporate tagline "Innovating today. Transforming tomorrow.", replacing the previous positioning "One MIZUHO: Building the future with you" that had guided the brand since 2013. In 2025, it launched the corporate branding campaign "Challenge with Blue", reflecting its commitment to embracing change and taking on new challenges alongside its clients.
