Thai Life Insurance Public Co. Ltd (Thai Life Insurance) is the first Thai insurance company. Founded on 22 January 1942 by Chao Phraya Sri Thammathibet (Chitr Na Songkhla) in Bangkok, it was established as the first life insurance company owned and operated by Thai nationals, with an initial registered capital of one million Baht. In 1970, the company was acquired by entrepreneur Vanich Chaiyawan, whose family continues to guide the business with his son Chai Chaiyawan currently serving as CEO. Over eight decades, Thai Life has grown into Thailand's third-largest life insurer by total premiums, serving millions of customers through over 64,000 insurance agents across 77 provinces and 264 branches. Its core offerings encompass whole life, term life, endowment, investment-linked, universal life, health and accident riders, critical illness, retirement planning, and children's insurance products, distributed through agency, bancassurance, direct marketing, and digital channels. In 2013, Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance became a strategic shareholder with a 15% stake, and in 2022 the company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The brand has achieved global recognition for its emotionally resonant advertising, including the 2011 Cannes Lions bronze-winning campaign "Silence of Love" and the 2014 viral film "Unsung Hero". Brand messaging evolved from the 2008 positioning "More Than Just Life Insurance" to the 2017 anniversary promise "Life, Beside You", anchored by the enduring brand promise of the "Value of (Thai) life".
