Air Dolomiti S.p.A. is an Italian regional airline founded in 1989 by entrepreneur Alcide Leali, commencing operations on 21 January 1991 with a 50-seat De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft. The airline was established to develop direct connections from medium-sized Italian city airports to the rest of Europe, focusing on frequency, scheduling, and service quality. In 1993, it signed a commercial agreement with Lufthansa, becoming an official partner in 1994. Lufthansa progressively acquired shares, becoming the sole shareholder in 2003 and fully integrating the airline into the Lufthansa Group. In 2009, Air Dolomiti became the first Italian airline to operate the Embraer 195, and today operates a fleet of 26 modern Embraer aircraft serving over 100 airports with approximately 550 weekly flights to Munich and Frankfurt hubs.

Core offerings include scheduled regional passenger services connecting Italian and European airports to Lufthansa hubs in Germany, alongside own-business operations and charter services. The airline provides Business and Economy Class cabins with Italian-inspired in-flight catering. Brand messaging has evolved from the service-focused positioning Let's Get Closer, reflecting its commitment to personalised service and convenient airport locations, to the 2025 campaign There's more to every flight, emphasising the deeper meaning, emotion, and connection within every journey.
