Isuzu Motors Ltd. is a Japanese commercial vehicle and diesel engine manufacturer with roots stretching back over a century. Founded in 1916 as the automotive division of Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering, the company took its name in 1934 from the Isuzu River near Japan's sacred Ise Shrine.
