Canadian National Railway's Slogans & Taglines

Canadian National Railway (CN) is a Canadian Class I freight railway headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. The company was incorporated on June 6, 1919, as a Crown corporation consolidating several insolvent railways taken over by the Government of Canada—including the Canadian Northern, the Intercolonial, the National Transcontinental, and, in 1923, the Grand Trunk—creating a transcontinental network exceeding 22,000 miles. Adopting the Intercolonial's motto The People's Railway, CN also used The National Way in its early years and Serves All Canada from the 1940s. Beyond freight, the corporation once operated hotels, steamships, and Trans-Canada Air Lines, and transferred its passenger services to Via Rail in 1978. Privatized through a November 1995 IPO, CN expanded aggressively in the United States via Illinois Central (1999), Wisconsin Central, and other acquisitions, today spanning roughly 20,400 route miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific and south to the Gulf of Mexico. Core offerings include rail freight across grain, intermodal, automotive, and energy sectors. Its iconic 1960 "noodle" logo by Allan Fleming remains among history's most celebrated corporate marks.
