Kubota Corporation was founded in 1890 by Gonshiro Kubota in Osaka as Kubota Casting Works, producing cast iron water pipes and machinery. In 1897, the company was renamed Kubota Iron Works, and in 1990 it celebrated its centenary by becoming Kubota Corporation. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown into one of the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural and industrial machinery, with operations spanning over 130 countries.

The brand's core products are agricultural machinery, construction equipment, engines, and lawn and garden equipment. From its early industrial roots, Kubota has evolved into a global sustainability pioneer. In 1993, the company adopted the slogan "Let's make our habitat more beautiful." This was followed by "Building foundations" in 2006, and in 2010 the enduring global brand statement "For Earth, For Life" was established, reflecting Kubota's commitment to solving challenges in food, water, and the environment worldwide.
